Le Meridien Ile Maurice is partnered with Vaco's Art Gallery offering a unique opportunity for guests to discover paintings, which explode in an array of colors and forms that blends with nature.

VACO was born in Mauritius in 1940. At the age of 18 years, he produced his first painting exhibition on the island and 2 years later, his second in Reunion Island.
Between 1964 and 1970, Vaco went to Paris and Brussels to study and then settled in South Africa for 20 years where he continued his art. He represented Mauritius in several major international exhibitions with his paintings such as the Autumn exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris.
In 2001, he was invited by the Belgium Ministry for Cooperation and Development, and then continued his journey toward Switzerland, Italy and Australia. In 2008, his exhibition "Voyage aux mers du Sud" took place in Hong Kong and Geneva.

His paintings are a hymm to Mauritius Island's beauty, a cry of love to Creation. VACO's work is sensual, carnal.
Women, source of Life, source of Art, unveil her soft curves from one painting to another, flowers bloom under the radiant sun, sweet and ripe fruits arouse temptation. As days go by, over nights, each moment in life is captured with grace, as if an invisible bond linked the universe in its never-ending diversity.
In a dazzling pallet, VACO carries color like a torch on the path to freedom.
